Monterey Regional Airport Features The Work of
Central Coast Art Association

MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA, March 4, 2024 – Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) proudly announces a year-long partnership with the Central Coast Art Association (CCAA).

The newly installed Mezzanine Gallery exhibit “Visualizing the many wonders of Monterey County through art” serves to draw attention to the beauty, enhancement, history, and serenity of Monterey County for the over 500,000 annual passengers that use MRY.

Monterey Regional Airport staff collaborated with the CCAA team to select a series of images that will attract and engage people who visit the airport in the hopes of enticing them to visit these beautiful locations in Monterey County by conveniently flying into Monterey Regional Airport and easily arriving at any one of these destinations within a short period of time.

CCAA’s President, Lori Howell, said, “Our exhibit will serve to educate visitors and the traveling public, highlighting the rich art history of Monterey County. World travelers will be “spellbound” by the Monterey Region!”

Airport Executive Director Mike La  Pier said, “It’s partnerships like these that make Monterey Regional Airport proud to be a part of a community who strives to promote and enhance the Arts local, nationally, and around the world”.

CCAA’s mission and purpose are to support and collaborate with the central coast as a vibrant arts community by promoting art appreciation and providing opportunities for artists of all experience levels to develop their skills and exhibit their work.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Author Lori Howell Thompson is holding a book signing and wine-tasting event to launch her book, “Living in Harmony with Wildlife in Lake Tahoe.”

Thompson, who lived at Rubicon Bay for over 50 years, has been collaborating with Denise Upton, the animal director for Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, and Toogee Sielsch, a Lake Tahoe black bear specialist, in writing her book.

The book signing event is on May 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Cork & More in South Lake Tahoe, located at 1032 Al Tahoe Blvd. The cost is $10 for winetasting. Please call 530.544.5253 to reserve your spot at the event, even those not having wine, so capacity can be monitored.

Thompson said her goal in writing the book is to educate all humans about how critically important it is to learn how to coexist with wildlife.
